Ego will never Let You Blow – Forqzy Beatz

Forqzy Beatz in an interview disclosed reasons why some underground artists don’t blow or break into main stream music.

The Sound engineer and music producer Marley Nartey known in the industry as Forqzy beatz located at Tema community 7 shed some light on the reason why some emerging artists don’t blow. Last week during his education with the emerging artists (Underground artists) he pointed out the following major reasons;

1. Lack of showbiz knowledge
2. Lack of massive promotion
3. Poor recording and mixing
4. Pride and ego
5. Copying blindly(lack of originality)
6. Bad lyrics
7. Not having their ears to the ground

He listed the above reasons and explained it one after the other for them to identify where their short comings are.
According to Forqzy Beatz; most emerging or up and coming artist have less showbiz  knowledge but have the talent and they want to exhibit it forgetting the business part of their craft. He further explained that they end up performing without taking even a cedi for transport and not thinking about their next project. They come begging for free production forgetting they also use power and time.

Meanwhile, most of the artist doesn’t know production is only 20% of their success without promotion. He explained to them that without promotion and awareness creation, nobody will even know your song even if it is lyrically good and positive.



Again, most emerging artist don’t work with good producers since good production is very vital here. They give  their project to inexperienced producer that lack the technical knowhow of production. This will have a negative effect on your song even if you have good vocals and lyrics.

He also said;
“Ego and pride is the most dangerous disease that brought most of your colleagues down”.
 He said most emerging artists when they start to get small fame then they start thinking their bigger than their managers and it is the most attitude that managers always complains about.

 Also, most underground artist copy the styles and vocals of the main stream artist even if they produce their own song. Fans of the original artist will always give the credit to the original artist and this will always hinder the under ground artist from breaking through.

He concluded that, they shouldn't think of doing love songs only but rather focus to do good and sensible music.
